About this skill
Obsidian Vault Assistant connects your AI helper directly to your local Obsidian vault so it can read, search, write, and surgically edit notes, tags, and frontmatter. Everything runs against the Local REST API on your own machine, with folder allowlists and a read-only switch so you control exactly what it can touch. Nothing is sent to the cloud by default, and risky actions like running commands are off until you turn them on.

- Read, search, and list notes, tags, and frontmatter in your vault
- Create, append to, and surgically edit notes
- Manage tags and frontmatter
- Delete notes (can require your confirmation)
- Optionally run Obsidian commands if you explicitly enable it
- Send your notes to any cloud or external service
- Access notes outside the folders you allow
- Run commands unless you turn that option on
- Read system credentials or files outside the vault
