People are promoting agent-to-agent MCP bridges that let Claude Code call Codex and others: why it is not safe to use

Users are sharing MCP bridges that let Claude Code hand work to other AI tools, which can widen what data and actions a setup can access.

What happened

Two Reddit posts in August 2026 promoted third party MCP bridges for Claude Code. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, a way for AI tools to connect to other tools and services. One post advertised an open source MCP server that lets Claude Code delegate tasks to Codex, Copilot, Cursor, and Gemini using existing subscriptions. Another promoted a local MCP bridge for Claude Code and Codex to give each other “second opinions.”

These are the kinds of skills people are actively sharing because they connect one agent to other agents and tools.

What it means for you

If you install a bridge like this, your main AI agent may be able to send work to other AI systems behind the scenes. That can expand what it can do, but also what data it can pass along. Depending on how a bridge is set up, that could include your prompts, code, files, and possibly credentials from your local environment.

For a non technical user, the easy mistake is to think you are adding a simple helper. In practice, you may be creating a multi agent chain with broader access than a single chat tool.

What to do instead

Before installing any bridge, check what it can read, what it can send, and which accounts it can use. Avoid connecting coding tools to sensitive folders or secrets unless you fully understand the setup. Start in a test project, not your main workspace. If you want to try skills, prefer reviewed options. AgentPod lists only reviewed, tested skills, without claiming that any setup is risk free.
