HeyGen HyperFrames skills are surging on skills.sh, so users are checking whether they are safe: why it is not safe to use

What happened

A group of HeyGen HyperFrames related skills is currently among the most-installed items on the skills.sh trending page. The page crawled today shows **hyperframes-cli** at 5.2K installs in the last 24 hours, **hyperframes-registry** at 5.1K, **media-use** at 5.0K, **hyperframes** at 3.7K, **hyperframes-animation** at 3.6K, and **hyperframes-core** at 3.6K. That makes HyperFrames one of the clearest viral third-party skill bundles right now in the shared agent-skills ecosystem used by Claude Code and Codex.

skills.sh says it performs routine security audits, which means basic checks are done on listed skills. But its documentation also says it cannot guarantee the quality or security of every skill and tells users to review skills before installing them.

What it means for you

For most non-technical users, the main issue is privacy. Media-generation skills may send your prompts, images, video clips, or project files to outside services that are not part of your main AI assistant. That does not mean a skill is unsafe, but it does mean you should treat it like any other third-party app.

What to do instead

Before installing, read the skill page and look for what data it uses, where that data goes, and whether uploads are required. Avoid using sensitive client files, private photos, or unpublished work unless you are comfortable sending them to a third party. If you only need a quick test, use sample files first.
